Christmas Day or Everyday

Many of you will be celebrating Christmas tomorrow, some will wish it would hurry and pass, and for some it’s just another day to you. Growing up, my family celebrated Christmas. Not as a religious holiday, but I like to think more a celebration of family and life. A few presents would be exchanged and dinner would ensue.

Looking back on the holidays, and as I got older, I realized not everyone had a good time, but those of us who did would tell jokes, laugh uproariously, and were generous with hugs and love. I look back and realize my mother and father didn’t know how to celebrate life on a daily basis, much less during the holidays, but my sisters and I, and eventually our children, sure knew how to enjoy each other.

Celebrating now is such a joyous occasion. My son and daughter-in-law have an amazing love, and the holidays are a million times better because of it. I’ve been folded into my darling daughter-in-law’s family, and they also make it that much better. I now know what truly enjoying family is, what true, unconditional love is, and that being able to look back on holidays and remember nothing but joy and happiness is an amazing thing.

For those of you who struggle with the holiday, a virtual hug and warmth your way and a Merry Christmas, even if it doesn’t feel that way. Although I haven’t felt your pain, I have felt pain during the holidays, and in-between, and wish you happiness and health, and a lessening of that pain.

For those of you who don’t celebrate, I hope your day is marvelous and enjoyable and that you have a delightful weekend.

For everyone who celebrates the day, I wish you a very Merry Christmas.

Joy, love, passion, health and happiness to everyone,
